It was a fantastic start to the AirAsia KL Junior League for FC Kuala Lumpur’s Under-10 teams. With FCKL Falcons facing NFDP ATBTR in Group A and FCKL Eagles drawn against SJCSC in Group B, our U10 teams netted an incredible combined 20 goals!
FCKL Falcons took the win 9–2 over the younger National Football Development Programme side while the Eagles bagged 11 goals to cruise to an 11–0 victory. The wins take FCKL Falcons second in group A on goal difference with the FC Kuala Lumpur Eagles top of Group B.
There were encouraging starts too for the FC Kuala Lumpur Under-8s and 12s. A nervy encounter with Superkids Raisuri Warriors saw the FCKL U8s pick up 1 point with a 1–1 draw. It was 1 point as well for the Under-12 FC Kuala Lumpur Eagles as they drew 2–2 with SJCSC.
The Under-12 Falcons, meanwhile, romped to a 6–0 win over SKBD FT 17 to put them level on points with league toppers Shoot Juniors after round 1.
The Under-8s, 10s and 12s play next on Sunday, 10 September after the Merdeka break.
14s and 16s enter round 2
Also in action over the weekend of 26th and 27th August were the FCKL Under-14s and 16s. Having dropped points in round 1, the Under-14s were disappointed again to lose to league newcomers The Beast. They’ll look to bounce back against KL Youth Soccer on Saturday, 9th September.
Hot off an opening round win last weekend, the Under-16s managed a draw against First 11 FC in round 2. They now sit 4th in the AirAsia KL Junior League table, just 2 points off top placed AirAsia-PJ Rangers Juniors.
