Little League Soccer ready for KL Cup 2019!

It’s that time of the year again where the best in the region come to Kuala Lumpur to prove their mettle at the KL Cup

The Kuala Lumpur Cup is back for its 4th edition, and this year Little League Soccer is set to enter development teams in the Under 8, Under 12 and Under 16 age groups.

Little League Soccer teams will be created from all 4 Klang Valley training centres (as well as from Singapore!), with the selected players set to face almost 100 other teams in one of Malaysia’s most prestigious youth tournaments.

Please note, there will be no Little League Soccer training on Saturday 2 and Sunday 3 March due to the KL Cup. Please check the training calendar for more details.

Little League development players can expect to gain valuable experience over the weekend, with regional teams from Vietnam, Indonesia, and Singapore participating as well.

What’s more enjoyable is the fact that all 4 centres will be participating, and apart from the Weekend Friendly Series, this will be the very first time teams will be donning the 2019 match kits of their respective centres! That’s right, the 4 Little League colour kits will make their debut in the competitive scene, matching the elite FC Kuala Lumpur teams in style points!

Those who have experienced previous editions of the tournament can look forward to a plethora of changes, especially with space, as the tournament will be held in not just one, but two venues. Pitches from The New Camp, Bandar Utama and Ardence Arena, Setia Alam will be used to ensure that teams get ample space, and less of a headache with the schedule.

The 7-a-side format also provides non-stop action and space on the pitch for players to showcase their skills, and stand a chance to capture the attention of FC Kuala Lumpur scouts, to get them to a higher level in the world of grassroots football. Teams will also be experiencing non-stop football, with 16 minute games being played instead of the conventional 2-half games.

Be prepared for hot weather, and hot shots and tekkers on the pitch next week, as the KL Cup takes Little League teams by storm!
